Wany Misban -
Instructor

It is easy to attribute Wany’s expertise to over 10 years of industry experience; but in reality, it is due to her personal belief that the key to a good life is moving well. Her approach to exercise is fuelled by this principle of fundamental movement and drives her to create personalized, targeted plans to unlock movement potential in her clients. She pulls from her extensive and constantly growing knowledge base – she is a graduate of sports and exercises science, certified in varied Pilates techniques (Balanced Body, STOTT, Gyrotonic), TRX, endurance and Bootcamp training, and precision nutrition among others. The results speak for themselves, as her clients experience holistic improvement in their strength, flexibility, and pain levels.

She also enjoys conducting group classes both high intensity or low impact. Wany’s classes are as challenging as they are fun. Recognised by Nike for her skills and energetic vibe, she currently holds a Master Trainer role in SoutheastAsia. She conducts training in the region and is a consultant for the SEA team for program modifications.

Wany is always looking out for new perspectives and techniques to include in her teaching arsenal. In her free time, Wany dabbles in various sports, yoga, and meditation. Her life’s work is centred around ageing gracefully to live independently without pain, for herself and the community.

Margaret has 11 years of clinical experience working in private and restructured hospital settings, followed by Pilates training and teaching. After receiving her training in Singapore and The University of Sydney, Margaret started her career focusing on pediatrics and women's health conditions in Mount Alvernia Hospital. While in Tan Tock Seng hospital and rehabilitation centre, she dealt with a wide range of conditions of all age groups. Over the years, Margaret has developed special interest in geriatrics and neurological care. In her pursuit of skill enhancement to provide better care for her patients, Margaret discovered her new passion - clinical/rehabilitative pilates training. She received DMA clinical pilates training in Perth and rehab based pilates course under Polestar Pilates. Since then, for the past 4 years outside the hospital setting, she has been incorporating Pilates in her physiotherapy treatments, dealing with clients with acute to chronic conditions, from neurological disorder to musculoskeletal related problems. She believes in working with her clients and giving them the skills and knowledge to manage their symptoms for long-term recovery.
Alethea has worked in both the private and public sectors for more than 15 years before making a switch to the movement industry. She was once diagnosed with severe myalgia pain; suspected to be caused by viral infections and for that short period, she had lost much of her hip mobility to even walk properly. During this time, Alethea started practicing Pilates which restored her sense of well-being, grounding her with an understanding of mind-body connection and giving her a sense of inner peace. Alethea's mid-career change was motivated by her desire to find freedom from chronic pains, support others on their journey to restoring health that could dramatically improve quality of life and empower them with movement awareness of their own bodies. Alethea works frequently with populations who has back, hip, knee & ankle conditions, stroke clients, older adults, prenatal, postnatal & diastasis recti recovery. Her love and passion to coach others rejuvenate their state of well-being is the core motivation for her drive. Alethea says "Move to Live Awesome"
A freelance dancer/dance teacher trained in jazz, hip hop, salsa and contemporary dance, Yizhen loves exploring different dance genres and ways of movement. An NUS Dance Ensemble alumna, she also graduated from L.A. Dance Connection's Scholarship Programme (SG), and Broadway Dance Center's International Student Visa Program (NY), receiving the Outstanding Student Award (September 2011) and mentoring with Sheila Barker, Joy Karley, Jamie J. & Co. and Jared Grimes. She has performed extensively locally and overseas, and taught at various dance studios, schools and fitness centers. Yizhen discovered Pilates in 2010 while training in New York, after spraining her knee and dealing with existing back injuries. Intensive Pilates practice positively transformed her alignment, flexibility and core strength, allowing her to cope with the athleticism of dancing. That inspired her to study Pilates and help others by sharing her experiences. She is a certified Balanced Body Pilates instructor (Mat, Reformer and Apparatus), and trained in the Balanced Body curriculum to teach CoreAlign®. She is committed to helping individuals from all walks of life strengthen their bodies in a pain free and holistic manner, and constantly upgrading her skills via continuing education to effectively communicate and share the benefits of Pilates with everyone!
