Audrey D’Cotta -
Founder & Senior Instructor

Audrey’s first brush with Pilates several years ago was as a client coping with back pain and scoliosis. Pilates proved to be such a life-changing experience for her that in 2003, she switched reins from the corporate world to become a movement instructor, in the hope of touching others’ lives through movement. In 2009, Audrey founded The Moving Body – a culmination of more than a decade of movement experience consisting of Fitness, Functional training, Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method.

Fully certified in the Pilates, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods, Audrey is passionate about providing the best care for her clients. Till this day, she travels extensively to learn from various experts in the field of movement practice to broaden her skill set and shares it with fellow instructors. Both a Balanced Body Faculty member and a Pre-Trainer in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods, Audrey has trained and certified many new aspiring instructors in the region. She conducts Instructor trainings in Singapore and in Asia and has presented at the Asian Fitness Conference in 2012 and the Balanced Body Pilates Around the World Conference in 2020.

A mother of 2, Audrey has taken a keen interest in working with pre/post natal women. Having exercised through both her pregnancies whilst managing her scoliosis, she has experienced the benefits of exercise for both mother and child from pregnancy, to delivery and beyond. This new phase in her life has also led her to discover the value of using mindful movement to change the lives of the physically challenged.

Audrey’s passion to help others through movement has led her to volunteer at ABLE, a charitable organization where she provided consultancy and expertise in the set up and running of a Pilates-based Rehabilitation Centre.

Starting off as a client, Sarah Lin started Pilates as a compliment to her triathlon training, which often left her with muscle tightness and injuries. Sarah recognised that Pilates was different from other fitness methods she had tried, and was determined to learn more. She completed a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science and went on to become certified in the Gyrotonic Expansion System. Sarah is also fully certified in the Polestar Pilates method.Sarah enjoys teaching clients from all walks of life from pre-natal mothers to competitive Ironman Athletes. She has been teaching since 2007 but took a hiatus for 5 years to build up a food business. Now a mother of a one-year-old girl, she is even more convicted that Pilates is essential for healing and rehabilitation of the body. She is keen to share its benefits so everyone will be equipped with skills to be free to move with strength and fluidity.
Alethea has worked in both the private and public sectors for more than 15 years before making a switch to the movement industry. She was once diagnosed with severe myalgia pain; suspected to be caused by viral infections and for that short period, she had lost much of her hip mobility to even walk properly. During this time, Alethea started practicing Pilates which restored her sense of well-being, grounding her with an understanding of mind-body connection and giving her a sense of inner peace. Alethea's mid-career change was motivated by her desire to find freedom from chronic pains, support others on their journey to restoring health that could dramatically improve quality of life and empower them with movement awareness of their own bodies. Alethea works frequently with populations who has back, hip, knee & ankle conditions, stroke clients, older adults, prenatal, postnatal & diastasis recti recovery. Her love and passion to coach others rejuvenate their state of well-being is the core motivation for her drive. Alethea says "Move to Live Awesome"
