Nienke has lived in Singapore since December 2014. Her interest in the human body started as an athlete in track and field. This led her to pursue a degree in Physiotherapy and then complete her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy.
She started her career in physiotherapy in private practice before moving into a hospital setting. Nienke first worked at the University Hospital in Groningen (UMCG) followed by the University Medical Centre in Amsterdam (VUmc). Both busy and well-known hospitals in Holland. While working in these hospitals, Nienke gained extensive experience in acute and post-surgery rehabilitation, and sports rehabilitation. In the outpatient clinic her interest in knee and shoulder rehabilitation arised and she was a member of the Shoulder Network Amsterdam for 3 years.
Nienke joined The Moving Body in 2016 and did the Mat 1, Mat 2 and Reformer 1 course. In 2017 Nienke received her dry needling certification and was able to join a course run by Suzanne Martin to be able to train hypermobile clients with Pilates exercises. Next to working at The Moving Body this Dutch Physiotherapist is also a trainer for Mom in Balance, where she teaches outdoor bootcamping for pregnant and post natal mommies.
